Eric Back is a Director with PG&E in Electric Operations responsible for Risk Management, Compliance, and Vegetation Management. He is the Co-Chairman for the National Near Hit Committee focused on improving safety and reliability in the Electric Utility industry. At PG&E, Mr. Back has held several leadership positions with responsibility for Transmission Operations and Substations. Eric began with PG&E in the Utility Performance Improvement group focusing on Electric Transmission and Substations.
Eric holds an MBA from the London Business School, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from UC Davis. He is also licensed Professional Engineer in CA and a certified Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma.
From a data analysis perspective, Bob is responsible for leading several teams of analysts. The Customer and Grid Analytics team performs proactive data modeling / analytics using both AMI and customer data to drive business intelligence and decision making. AEP’s Performance Management team provides consistent reporting, analysis, and peer benchmarking for AEP’s seven operating companies on key operational and financial measures in the distribution and customer services businesses. These include areas of focus such as safety, reliability, workforce productivity, customer satisfaction and customer delinquency / uncollectibles. Bob’s team is responsible for deployment of third party customer surveys that provide direction to AEP’s customer experience work planning and execution. The team also provides financial support and business case expertise / analysis to the operating companies and the shared Customer and Distribution Services (C&DS) organization.
With over 20 years+ IT experience, Michelle has an extensive background leading large multi-site operational support teams and delivering key IT projects and initiatives. Recognized for consistently optimizing struggling units and developing a high-performing culture.
Rob Fournie, Emergency Preparedness Director – Commonwealth Edison
Rob Fournie is the Director of Emergency Preparedness for ComEd. He has been with ComEd for 28 years. He has extensive electric utility operational experience; including notable roles include Manager of Distribution Reliability in the City of Chicago, and Manager of Transmission Lines Engineering.
Rob’s storm role experience includes; Operations Section Chief in the ComEd EOC, Region Emergency Response Manager, Field Incident Commander and Operations Lead in Joint Operation Centers with County/Municipality Representatives.
Jennifer Gary, Marketing Manager – Entergy
Jennifer Gary works in digital marketing to increase online engagement with Entergy’s 2.8 million utility customers. Her special focus is on strategic marketing and data analytics for marketing. She has worked in both residential and business marketing in both the utility and banking industries. She holds an M.B.A. from Tulane University and a B.A. from Furman University. Jennifer lives in New Orleans with her husband and two sons. When not thinking up new marketing schemes and attending swim meets with her boys, Ms. Gary is busy singing with two professional ensembles in New Orleans.
Karl Grieve, Utility Analytics Manager – Consumers Energy
Karl Grieve is Utility Analytics Manager in the Grid Management organization at Consumers Energy. He has been with Consumers Energy since 1994. His previous experience is in engineering application development, network modeling, system simulation, and high-voltage distribution and transmission system planning.
He and his team are focusing on leveraging smart meter data for analytics, especially from the perspective of its use in grid operations. He is currently working on implementation of CIM-compliant data models to facilitate the integration of data sources such as smart meter, GIS, SCADA, and asset information into a high-performance platform for advanced analytics.
Tim Hunt, Director, Customer & Utility Analytics – JEA
Since joining JEA in 1997, Tim has had but one job – combating entropy through information. To do this he relies as much as possible on the scientific method. This is his singular professional passion. Tim also enjoys traveling with his wife, listening to jazz music and finding unique experiences. He studied psychology and math at the University of Illinois, graduating with honors.
Dr. Ioannis (Yannis) Katsansos, Lead Data Scientist, Customer Business Analytics – Commonwealth Edison
Dr. Ioannis Katsanos is the Lead Data Scientist in the Customer Business Analytics department at ComEd. He is charged with leading the scientific and technological efforts of the department towards answering the difficult questions across customer operations and creating data driven products. He comes with more than 20 years of experience in advanced data analytics, having led teams in both industry and academia. Over his career he has analyzed data in the range of several petabytes and trillion of rows, while conducting research on applications of high performance computing. Ioannis holds a PhD in Physics from Columbia University in the City of New York.

Kristy Lovett is the Sr. Manager Customer Satisfaction for Ameren Missouri, with responsibility for customer research, customer solutions, customer care quality assurance, workforce management and training.

Matthew Peacore, Principal Manager, Enterprise Architecture & Strategy – Southern California Edison
Matt works for Southern California Edison as the Principal Manager for Information and Technology Architecture in the Enterprise Architecture & Strategy organization in IT. He is responsible for consultation, design, and strategy for information, business analytics, collaboration, content management and technology architectures across SCE. Matt joined Edison in June 2009, prior to which he has held IT management positions at the Capital Group Companies, and Mars Inc.
A graduate of the University of Southern California (Engineering & Business) Matt has over 25 years of business experience in manufacturing, environmental & mechanical energy design consulting, consumer products, financial services, and utilities as well as working internationally throughout Europe. In addition, he has over 20 years of experience in an IT management role with strategy, design, implementation and support of systems in HR, Supply Chain, Sales, Analytics, Web and other back office systems.
